Music is embedded in the culture at St Mary Queen of Martyrs. It is an enjoyable learning experience which allows our children to be creative, reflective and use music to express themselves. We encourage all of our children to participate in a variety of musical experiences including specialist tuition, music concerts and bringing music into the classroom using Charanga. This inclusive scheme allows our children to experience a range of genres and music styles from different times and places. It develops their singing voices as well as handling and playing musical instruments successfully in order to develop the skills needed to create their own music. Musical opportunities in school include weekly music lessons and out of school music groups such as orchestra and choir.
